Rain Barrels

The City of Brantford offers rain barrels year-round to Brantford residents at the Mohawk Street Landfill. Barrels are $74.00 per unit, including tax. The landfill is open Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

You can use rain barrels for household needs, such as:

• Watering your lawn, plants and garden.
• Washing your car.
• Cleaning outdoor furniture.
• Washing garden tools and containers.

You can also save more water when you connect multiple barrels.

Maintenance Instructions

Follow these seasonal maintenance instructions for your rain barrel.

Summer:

• Clean your screen once a month to prevent clogging.
• Check for erosion around your rain barrel.
• Make sure that the platform is always stable.

Winter:

• Drain the barrel and store it in a safe place.
• Don't leave it out to freeze as it may crack.

Exchange of Rain Barrels and Parts

If your rain barrel has a deficiency while under the one year warranty, please contact us  at 519-759-4150  so an exchange or replacement can be arranged with the supplier.  Exchanges only - no returns.
