A variety of media may be used during an emergency to provide the public with information and instructions. Follow responding agencies or municipalities social media channels and tune into your local radio and television stations to stay informed. Be sure to share any credible emergency information that you receive with all members of your household and your neighbours.

- Environment Canada is the official source for weather watches, warnings and alerts for Ontario
- Ontario 511 provides road closures, conditions and construction information through an interactive map on their website or by dialing 5-1-1
- The Grand River Conservation Authority provides information on river conditions as well as flood watches and warnings for the Grand River watershed.
Keep in mind that electricity may not be available, cellular service might be delayed and misinformation could be prevalent. Seek information from credible sources and be sure to have a portable radio, phone charger as well as a battery bank in your emergency kit.
