Elementary and Secondary Schools
Brantford offers diverse and high quality English and French education in public non-denominational, public catholic, and private school systems. The city has 2 school boards - 1 English public non-denominational school board and 1 English catholic school board, as well as École catholique Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys - a Conseil Scolaire all French catholic school.
Both public and catholic school boards offer elementary (grades kindergarten – 8) and secondary schools (grades 9-12) as well as French immersion programs, and each has their own set of rules and admission criteria. The Province funds public elementary and secondary school education.
Public schools
The Grand Erie District School Board is a non-denominational school board that services over 28,900 students at its 58 elementary and 14 secondary schools; 2 of which offer single-track French immersion programs and 5 of which offer dual-track French immersion programs.
The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board services over 10,000 students at its 28 elementary and 3 secondary schools; 2 of which offer single-track French immersion and 5 of which offer French immersion programs.
Sainte-Marguerite-Bourgeoys is part of Le Conseil Scolaire de District Catholique that oversees French public schools for children from junior kindergarten to grade 12. Le Conseil Scolaire services over 17,400 students in 46 elementary schools and 11 high schools located throughout Ontario.
Six Nations Polytechnic STEAM Academy (High School) is a grade 9-14 technology focused secondary school where students create their own pathways to high-skilled jobs. College level courses are offered as early as grade 10. Graduates finish the program in 5 - 6 years with both an Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a post-secondary qualification.
