June 25, 2024 wind storm debris cleanup underway

BRANTFORD, ON – Operational Services and Forestry crews are actively working to remove wind storm debris from roadsides and sidewalks, following Tuesday's wind storm.

We recognize that many residents were impacted by the storm and that there are still trees and branches on sidewalks, roads, and residential properties. To report City-owned downed trees/debris blocking roads, sidewalks and trails please call 519-759-4150.

While staff work to remove debris, residents have the option to take their debris to the Mohawk Street landfill. The landfill is open for residential drop-off of leaf and yard waste from Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, please visit Brantford.ca/Landfill

For smaller quantities of leaf and yard waste or brush, residents are reminded that if the branches are under 4 inches in diameter, they can be cut, bundled and set out on your regular garbage day as per the City’s standard waste collection processes.

If there are larger tree issues on your property, please enlist qualified individuals/companies to ensure the clearing work is carried out safely. The use of chainsaws and cutting overhead tree limbs can be dangerous and should only be done by trained and qualified individuals.

We ask for the public’s continued patience as crews continue working to address a large backlog of requests.
