Holiday Curbside Collection Schedule
BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford’s curbside collection will be adjusted the weeks of December 25, 2023 and January 1, 2024 due to the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays. Waste collection services including garbage, recycling and green bin will not take place on Christmas Day (Monday, December 25, 2023) and New Year’s Day (Monday, January 1, 2024). Collection will occur one day later than regular scheduled collection days from Tuesday, December 26, 2023 to Saturday, December 30, 2023 and from Tuesday, January 2, 2024 to Saturday, January 6, 2024.

The Mohawk Street Landfill will be open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding Christmas Day (December 25, 2023) and New Year’s Day (January 1, 2024), and will remain closed on Sundays.
Christmas Tree Collection
The City of Brantford will collect Christmas trees at the curb from Tuesday, January 2 to Friday, January 12, 2024. Residents are asked to place their Christmas trees visible at the curb before 7 a.m. on their scheduled collection day. Please remember to remove ornaments, tinsel, tree stands, and plastic bags from your tree. Christmas trees longer than 8’ must be cut in half. Christmas trees that are buried in snow or frozen to the ground will not be collected. Artificial trees will not be collected. Residents can dispose of artificial trees by scheduling a bulk pickup at Brantford.ca/BulkPickup.
Holiday Recycling Reminder
Remember to recycle wisely this holiday season. Food related plastics (1 through 7), cardboard tubes, cardboard boxes and cartons can be recycled. Only wrapping paper that is 100 per cent plain paper can be recycled. Metallic or cellophane wrapping paper, tissue paper and styrofoam are not recyclable and should be put in the garbage.
Brantford’s Green Bin
Put holiday waste in the proper place. Residents can use their green bin to dispose of organic waste such as meat scraps, bones, gravy/sauces, fruits and vegetables, baked goods, and more. To find a full list of items that can be composted in your green bin, visit Brantford.ca/GreenBin.
