City of Brantford 2024 Civic Holiday schedule changes
BRANTFORD, ON – For the public’s information, the following schedule changes will be in place during the upcoming Civic Holiday on Monday, August 5, 2024. There are no changes to the collection of regularly scheduled green bin, garbage and recycling.
Brantford City Hall at 58 Dalhousie Street will close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2 and reopen on Tuesday, August 6 at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be routed to the City’s after-hours provider.
The following facilities and services will be operating on Monday, August 5, 2024:
- Brantford Lift: operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Brantford and District Civic Centre: open for scheduled rentals
- Brantford Transit: operating from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Earl Haig Family Fun Park: open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pools close at 5:30 p.m. (admission fees apply) Park amenities include lazy river, splash pad, leisure pool and waterslide and mini-putt.
- Landfill site: open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Walter Gretzky Golf Course and Pro Shop: tee times begin at 7 a.m. with the last tee time at 7 p.m. Tee times can be booked online at Brantford.ca/Golf. The Pro Shop is also open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Wally’s Grill and Patio: everyone welcome to enjoy family-friendly fare from 10 a.m. to dusk (located at the Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course)
- Free Indoor Track: 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Arena: open for scheduled rentals
- Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition: open with free admission
- Kid Care: closed
- Weight Room: open 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Modified swim schedules:
- Family Swim (65m shallow-end) and Warm Water Pool Drop-in: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Length Swim (25m pool and 65m pool mid-section and deep end) and Hydrotherapy Pool Drop-in: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Public Swim: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Woodman Pool: (admission fees apply)

- Length Swim: 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Family Swim: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
- Public Swim: 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Beckett Recreation Centre
- Bell Homestead National Historic Site
- Branlyn Community Centre
- Brantford Public Library (Main Branch and St. Paul Branch)
- Discover Brantford Information Desk (located at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre)
- Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre
- Lions Park Arena
- Parking Enforcement Office at Brantford City Hall
- T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre
- Woodman Park Community Centre (Woodman Pool is open)
- Ontario Works Brantford at 225 Colborne Street
