Brantford Transit invites community feedback on draft transit plan
BRANTFORD, ON – Brantford Transit continues its commitment to shaping the future of transportation in the city with the launch of the second round of its engagement campaign for the Moving Forward transit optimization study.
Building on the invaluable feedback received from the community during the initial phase in late 2023, Brantford Transit is excited to unveil the draft transit plan that reflects public input and aspirations.
The public is invited to participate in a detailed and interactive overview of proposed changes resulting from stakeholder feedback. The Draft Transit Network and recommended next steps for Brantford Lift can be explored by visiting LetsTalkBrantford.ca/Transit. This engagement process aims to ensure a robust and inclusive dialogue, and community members are encouraged to attend an open house style public meeting to have their say and join the conversation on Thursday, April 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street).
“The community has helped us begin the process of reimagining Brantford Transit, and we’re still listening,” said Mike Spicer, Director of Fleet and Transit Services. “We’re excited to present our draft transit plan and hear their additional feedback.”
Since 2021, transit ridership in Brantford has seen a significant increase. This signals high demand and a unique opportunity to build a transit network that can attract new passengers while continuing to welcome current riders aboard.
“This plan will be carefully crafted to ensure that we remain prepared for the future while providing the best possible service to our passengers today,” said Commissioner of Public Works, Inderjit Hans. “We are committed to building a sustainable and accessible transportation network that enables our city to thrive.”
As we move forward, the City of Brantford remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and customer-focused transit solutions. Brantford Transit is a vital component of Brantford’s transportation network, providing essential services to residents and visitors alike. Through continuous improvement and innovation, Brantford Transit strives to offer an exceptional transit experience that accommodates the evolving needs of the community.
