Brantford Transit COVID-19 outbreak declared over

BRANTFORD, ON – The Brant County Health Unit (BCHU) on Sunday, May 2, 2021, declared the outbreak over at the Brantford Transit terminal. It has been 14 days since the last risk for exposure at the Brantford Transit terminal associated with the outbreak, allowing BCHU to officially declare the outbreak over.

City of Brantford staff have been working closely with the BCHU after the outbreak of positive cases was first identified in mid-April. At that time, Brantford Transit took quick action to pull any vehicles in use by employees who tested positive out of service for 24 hours while additional cleaning took place. Service modifications were also made in an effort to help further protect the health and safety of passengers and staff.

Brantford Transit will continue with all its pandemic protocols such as an enhanced cleaning regiment that includes additional disinfecting on frequent touch points with focus on fare collection machines, handrails, and other high-touch points. There is also a 15 passenger-limit on all services with extra shuttles available, if required.
