City Announces Lineup for Brantford’s 2019 Canada Day Celebration

BRANTFORD, ON –The City of Brantford’s Canada Day Celebration Committee is excited to announce the fantastic lineup of entertainment and activities that will take place on Monday, July 1st, 2019.

The day begins with a Citizenship Ceremony taking place at 9:00 a.m. at the Boys and Girls Club of Brantford located at 2 Edge Street. Plan to attend, re-affirm your citizenship, and witness more than 30 individuals taking an oath to become a Canadian Citizen.

The celebration officially kicks off at 2:00 p.m., with Main Stage entertainment presented by OLG. Acts set to perform include The Dirty Pioneers, Blushing Brides (Rolling Stones Tribute), Freedom Train, and Lee Harvey Osmond. Headlining this year’s celebration is multiple Juno award winner, Colin James.

The Expositor Young Canadians Area will feature a variety of fun and interactive activities for families. The young and young at heart won’t want to miss meet and greets with Paw Patrol’s Chase, Barney sing-alongs, a special Freedom House performance, and the headlining show Toopy and Binoo presented by Tim Hortons.

Fan favourites are back this year including the Campbell Amusements KidZone, the Rogers TV Marketplace, delicious food, and of course a spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.

Complimentary shuttle service will once again be made available to help get attendees to and from the Steve Brown Sports Complex / Lions Park on July 1. Single-entry parking is also available for $10.00 per vehicle in support of Canada Day and the Sunrise Rotary Club of Brantford.

Keep an eye out for our Canada Day Green Team and the City’s Environmental Policy Advisory Committee (EPAC) who are on a mission to divert 75% of the waste from this year's celebration. Attendees are reminded to bring a reusable water bottle again this year, as the City’s Quench Buggy will be offering free water refills.

There are a number of ways for the public to get involved in this year's event. The City is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the celebration. A number of positions are available including set-up crew, event greeters, parking attendants, and Green Team members to assist with waste diversion and recycling management. Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and youth can use their time toward their required community service hours. Applications are available at brantford.ca/CanadaDayVolunteer and will be accepted until Thursday, June 27 at 4:00 p.m.
