The City celebrates the Grand Opening of Preston Park Playground

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford, in partnership with the Holmedale Neighbourhood Association, invites residents to celebrate the completion of Preston Park playground, located at 272 Dufferin Avenue, on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This free Halloween themed event will include children’s entertainment and an official ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The Holmedale Neighbourhood Association can't wait to meet with friends and neighbours as we celebrate the official grand opening of Preston Park," says Karen DiGrandis, representative of the Holmedale Neighbourhood Association. “We look forward to seeing everyone’s best Halloween costumes!"

Features of this new playground include junior playground equipment designed for children ages 2 to 5 and senior play equipment designed for children ages 5 to 12 with accessible swings and paved pathways. Additional new seating includes three new park benches and boulders alongside the play area.

“It’s been a terrific year filled with playground opening celebrations for the community to enjoy,” says Jennifer Middleton, Coordinator of Special Events for the City of Brantford. “This celebration is extra festive! We look forward to seeing families join in on the fun, celebrating the completion of this wonderful playground, and getting into the Halloween spirit.”

Free family fun will include children’s entertainment and bouncy castle, trick-or-treating and official ribbon cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. A costume contest for a chance to win prizes will take place after the ceremony.
