Temporary Bridge Closure for the Ava Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project
BRANTFORD, ON – The next stage of the Ava Road Bridge Rehabilitation project is set to begin work within the Canadian National Railway (CNR) right-of-way, upgrading this vital link over the CNR tracks, connecting Brant Avenue to Paris Road in Brantford. As previously communicated, the rehabilitation plan will require temporary closures for both the bridge and adjacent streets. Construction within the CNR right-of-way will begin the week of June 3, 2024 and required closures are scheduled to last until the expected completion of construction in Fall 2024.
The Ava Road Bridge will be closed the week of May 27, 2024, with all truck, vehicular, and pedestrian traffic being detoured. Ava Road / Brant Avenue between Parkside Drive and the western entrance to W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind on Brant Avenue will also be closed.
Additional details related to the Ava Road Bridge Rehabilitation Project, including information on the planned truck, vehicular, and pedestrian detour routes can be found on the City’s website at brantford.ca/AvaRoadBridge.
