Redeveloped Dufferin Park to reopen in July

BRANTFORD, ON – The City is excited to announce that the newly redeveloped Dufferin Park at 164 St. Paul Avenue in Brantford, is on track to open this summer. Thanks to valued input provided by the Holmedale Neighbourhood Association and the hard work of the City’s Engineering and Parks and Recreation staff, the upgraded park will include the following new amenities:

  • Six state-of-the-art tennis courts complete with lighting and access to shade structures
  • Six pickleball courts also equipped with lighting and shade structures
  • An asphalt multi-use area, including a basketball court
  • A redesigned play area accompanied by a shade structure
  • A modern central public building including a small indoor meeting space, an outdoor patio area, storage facilities, and accessible washrooms
  • A newly constructed parking lot featuring accessible spaces and a convenient drop-off area
  • Enhanced landscaping throughout the park to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment

The centerpiece of the redevelopment is the brand-new one thousand square foot Dufferin Park public building. Centrally located within the park, this facility features a covered entryway, indoor meeting space, outdoor patio area, storage room, and universal public washrooms.

Tennis Courts Access

In terms of access to the Dufferin Park tennis courts, we want to reassure residents that the booking process will remain unchanged, following the same procedures as before the redevelopment. While alternative options were explored, the City has decided not to implement any changes to courts access and bookings at this time. Details regarding the current booking process and how the public can access the courts will be shared closer to the official opening date.

Public Grand Opening – July 2024

We are also excited to announce that a grand opening celebration is being planned in collaboration with the Holmedale Neighbourhood Association. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting event!

We thank the community for your patience and support throughout the redevelopment process. We look forward to welcoming you to the new and improved Dufferin Park this summer for a season filled with community, recreation, and celebration.
