Ministry of Transportation to resume roadway improvements on Wayne Gretzky Parkway

BRANTFORD, ON – Drivers who frequent the Wayne Gretzky Parkway (WGP) and Highway 403 should be aware that construction work led by the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is set to resume starting Monday, April 14, 2025. This is part of the ongoing maintenance and reconstruction project that began in 2024.

Beginning April 14, closures will be in effect for both the Highway 403 eastbound on-ramp (northeast ramp) and the Highway 403 eastbound off-ramp (west-north/south ramp). In addition, traffic will once again be reduced to a single lane in both directions on Wayne Gretzky Parkway, between the intersection of Morton Avenue East and the intersection of Edmondson Street. These lane reductions are expected to cause delays during peak travel times. Drivers should also expect nightly single-lane closures on Highway 403 in both the eastbound and westbound directions as part of the ongoing work. The posted speed limit on Highway 403 will be reduced to 80 kilometres per hour through the construction zone.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and, along with MTO, appreciate your patience and cooperation as work is completed to improve road conditions for all users.

For more information on this project, please contact the Ministry of Transportation at 416-235-4686 or toll-free at 1-800-268-4686, or email mtoinfo@ontario.ca.
