Emergency Operations Centre Advisory Committee supports access restrictions implemented by Six Nations of the Grand River to protect public health and safety

The Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Advisory Committee is made up of organizations within The City of Brantford, The County of Brant and Six Nations of the Grand River, working together to reduce the risks posed by community spread of Coronavirus COVID-19 in our region.

On March 29th, Six Nations of the Grand River announced new measures to protect the health and safety of residents, whereby access to the territory is restricted for shopping or recreational purposes.

The following members of the EOC Advisory Committee fully support the decisions made by Six Nations Elected Council to safeguard their community and slow the spread of Coronavirus Covid-19:

The health, safety and well-being of all people within our region remains a top priority for all of us. We recognize that the Six Nations of the Grand River community are among the most vulnerable, and that during this crisis in particular, are at greater risk. This is why we must all fully support the measures implemented to improve the Six Nations public health response and provide them with the flexibility they require to address the specific needs identified by their leadership and community members.

We strongly urge citizens of all regions to respect the decisions made and extraordinary measures that have to be implemented in the interests of the protection of health and safety during this challenging and unprecedented time.
