Emergency Licensed Child Care for school-aged children
BRANTFORD, ON – Licensed child care centres in the City of Brantford and the County of Brant will provide over 150 Emergency Licensed Child Care spaces to eligible families beginning Monday, April 19th, 2021.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the licensed child care providers in both the City and County that are working so hard to support local families.” Marlene Miranda, General Manager, Community Services and Social Development
These services are being provided as a result of Premier Ford’s announcement on April 12th, 2021 that Ontario would be offering free emergency child care for school-aged children. All licensed child care centres adhere to both Provincial and local health and safety guidelines. Eligibility requirements include the following:
- Each child must have been enrolled in school as of December 31, 2020
- The child’s parent/guardian must live or work in the City of Brantford or the County of Brant and have no other child care option during the time of enrollment
- Applicants must meet the essential service frontline worker eligibility requirements set out by the Provincial government.
