Downtown Revitalization Office opens to support Community collaboration

BRANTFORD, ON – The Downtown Revitalization project is a significant undertaking by the City of Brantford to transform how Downtown Brantford looks, feels, and functions while also preserving its cultural heritage. The project is required because the underground infrastructure, including the sanitary, sewer, and watermains, are reaching the end of their life and need to be replaced. The new underground infrastructure will also allow for increased capacity and future development in the downtown. Above ground, enhancements in streetscaping will foster a more appealing, and secure environment for everyone, while also enhancing transportation options throughout the downtown area.

Consistent with our shared vision to develop a vibrant and thriving downtown core, Mayor Kevin Davis was joined by Councillor Mandy Samwell, City staff and members of the Downtown Brantford Business Improvement Area (DBBIA) Chair, Barbara Sutherland and Executive Director Annette Wawzonek, to officially open a dedicated Downtown Revitalization Office in Brantford City Hall. Repurposed from existing space in City Hall and designed as a central resource hub, the office will be staffed to address questions and concerns from local businesses and residents regarding the ongoing downtown revitalization project.

Located in Heritage Hall (main lobby) at Brantford City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street), beginning May 13^th, members of the public can make appointments with City staff to receive information about the downtown project and get their questions answered or drop in to explore conceptual renderings.
