BRANTFORD, ON – This summer marks the beginning of an exciting six-month campaign designed to engage the community in planning for our city's future. The "Brantford 2050: Mapping Our Path Forward Together" initiative is a unique opportunity to collaboratively develop a new City of Brantford Vision that, together, as a community, will help us imagine Brantford's future and establish an updated mission, vision, and values statement to guide city planning and prioritization over the next several decades.

With Brantford experiencing unprecedented growth now and in over the next two decades, we envision a Brantford 2050 that is inclusive and forward-thinking, laying the groundwork for the next generation. Our ultimate goal is to build a city that is for everyone, where we care for both our community and our environment.

To ensure the community’s vital input is integrated into the eventual City of Brantford 2050 Vision document, we are beginning an extensive community-wide conversation and we want to hear your thoughts on these key areas of focus:

  • Business and industry
  • Climate and sustainability
  • Fostering a welcoming and diverse community
  • Transit and infrastructure
  • Tourism, sport, and culture
  • Supporting our most vulnerable citizens

While we will engage with residents in person through a series of focus groups and workshops in the fall, the first phase of the engagement campaign is an online survey designed to explore the themes that will be further explored in the focus groups.

Starting today, we invite the community to participate in mapping our future together by completing the survey available at LetsTalkBrantford.ca/Brantford2050. This objective of the survey is to collect diverse perspectives on various aspects of quality of life and city development, helping to shape a vision for the City of Brantford that reflects the collective aspirations of our community.

This is the first of many opportunities that will be offered to participate in this campaign. Your input is essential to ensure that Brantford 2050 is a vision built by the community, for the community. Together, we can create a roadmap that supports a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive future for all.

Launching the initiative at a Mayor’s Breakfast with the business community this morning, Mayor Kevin Davis emphasized the importance of community involvement in this initiative, saying, "By working together and gathering diverse input from our community, we can create a vision for 2050 that reflects our community’s collective vision for the future of our city. I encourage everyone to participate in this campaign and share their ideas on how we can build a stronger, more vibrant and inclusive Brantford for all of our citizens."
