Colborne Road Closure

Temporary Road Closure on Colborne St. between Brant Ave and Queen St.

The public is advised that a road closure along Colborne Street between Brant Avenue and Queen Street will be in place, beginning tomorrow Wednesday May 20, 2020 until Friday, May 29, 2020.

This road closure is required for the demolition of site buildings located at 60-68 Colborne Street that were subject to a fire on February 11, 2020. Structural engineers have assessed the site and recommended that the road be fully closed to provide adequate working space and protection to the public during demolition work.

The corresponding map shows the demolition work area in blue that will be fenced off to the public. The red lines show the extent of the road and sidewalk closure as well as the locations where road closure signage will be placed. The closure includes Colborne Street between Brant Avenue and Queen Street and partial closure of King Street.

A detour using Icomm Drive and Clarence Street South is already in place and the advisory signs will be updated to reflect the full closure and affected dates. Once the work is complete, it is expected that all lanes of traffic will reopen and the fencing will be moved to the north sidewalk to secure the vacant site.
