City sees robust industrial construction in March
BRANTFORD, ON – Today, the City released its March 2021 Report on Construction Activity demonstrating a construction value of $27.030 million for 118 building permits issued.
“The rise in permit numbers and construction values for the month of March is the start of what will prove to be a very busy construction year for the City of Brantford,” said Andy McMahon, Chief Building Official and Director of Building Services, City of Brantford.
The largest increase occurred in the Industrial sector of construction. A total of four permits were issued with a total construction value of $19.531 million. An increase also occurred in the Residential (Accessory, Alterations, Additions) sector of construction with a construction value of $4.981 million for 104 permits issued.
Noteworthy permits issued in March include a permit issued to Upfield Canada Inc. at 8-10 Craig Street with a construction value of $18 million as well as a permit issued to Aldershot Homes Limited for the construction of townhouses at 40 Heath Street with a construction value of $1.2 million.
