City seeks youth and community feedback for 2025-2027 Empowering Youth Strategy

Empowering Youth Survey

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford is seeking feedback from youth ages 15 to 30, as well as parents, caregivers and youth-serving organizations, to help shape the 2025-2027 Empowering Youth Strategy. The feedback gathered through these online surveys will help guide municipal priorities and actions aimed at enhancing opportunities for youth involvement in local government, community programs, civic action and more.

There are two surveys available, one for youth ages 15 to 30 and another for parents, caregivers and youth-serving organizations. Both surveys are open for feedback until July 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Youth who participate in the Empowering Youth survey will have a chance to win one of two $50.00 Sport Chek gift cards. Throughout the spring and summer, opportunities for in-person feedback consultations have been made available through partnerships with local youth-serving organizations, including Woodview Mental Health & Autism Service’s Fortitude Youth Group, BGC Brantford, Brantford Youth Council, and Woodman Community Centre Youth Drop-In, with additional sessions to be scheduled with Why Not City Mission, Brantford Pride and The Bridge Brant, and more. City of Brantford staff will also collect feedback at booths during Brantford Pride – Pride in the Park 2024 on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Mohawk Park, and Brantford’s Canada Day on Monday, July 1, 2024 at Lion’s Park Steve Brown Sports Complex.

The City of Brantford is designated as a Youth Friendly City by recognizing the unique needs of youth and ensuring they have continuous access to leadership and engagement opportunities in the community. The City’s 2022-2024 Empowering Youth Strategy was developed through extensive community engagement with local youth groups, youth advocates, and youth-serving agencies to empower local youth and support a youth-friendly community.
