City of Brantford to host Expo for National AccessAbility Week
BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford, in partnership with local organizations and advocates, will be hosting an Accessibility Expo on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre Arena 2, located at 254 North Park St. The event is in support of National AccessAbility Week recognized from May 26 to June 1, 2024.
Consistent with the City’s Inclusive Communities Plan, this event is an opportunity to bring the community together to network, learn about existing resources from local organizations, and celebrate the important work that’s being done to make Brantford more accessible
The event will feature:
- 1:45pm: Opening remarks from Nicole Callander from Friends 4 Kindness about the importance of inclusion in our community
- 2:00pm: Greetings from Mayor Kevin Davis and Ward 4 Councillor Linda Hunt and the premiere of the City of Brantford’s Accessibility Awareness “Day in the Life” video
- 2:45pm: The 2024 City of Brantford Accessibility Awards, acknowledging individuals and organizations that are making a significant contribution towards improving accessibility to accommodate persons with disabilities

The City of Brantford joined the UNESCO Coalition of Inclusive Municipalities in May 2022, committing to eliminating barriers and becoming an inclusive municipality where all Brantford residents can fully participate, engage, and thrive.
