City of Brantford 2025 Family Day holiday schedule changes

BRANTFORD, ON – For the public’s information, the following schedule changes will be in place during the upcoming Family Day holiday on Monday, February 17, 2025. There will be no changes to regularly scheduled garbage, recycling, and green bin collection.

Brantford City Hall, Customer Service and Parking Enforcement

Brantford City Hall and Customer Service will be closed at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 14 and reopen on Tuesday, February 18 at 8:30 a.m. While closed, all customer service calls will be routed to the City’s after-hours provider that can be reached by calling the City’s Customer Service number at 519-759-4150.

Brantford Transit and Brantford Lift hours on Monday, February 17, 2025:

  • Brantford Transit: no service
  • Brantford Lift: no service

The following facilities are open on Monday, February 17, 2025:

  • Bell Homestead National Historic Site: open regular hours on February 17 and closed on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
  • Brantford and District Civic Centre: open for the ticketed Brantford Bulldogs game
  • Doug Snooks Eagle Place Community Centre: open for a pre-registered pickleball tournament event. Closed for regular programming.
  • Mohawk Street Landfill site: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre

All regular fitness and swimming programming will be available at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre on Monday, February 17, 2025, and regular rates apply. Find current schedules online at calendar.waynegretzkysportscentre.ca.

  • Arena: open for rentals and a Family Day Public Skate from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Regularly scheduled recreational skating will not be offered on February 17.
  • Weight room: open regular hours from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Brantford and Area Sports Hall of Recognition: open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (admission is free)
  • Discover Brantford Desk: open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Indoor track: open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Family Day Public Swim from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The following facilities are closed on Monday, February 17, 2025:

  • Beckett Recreation Centre: closed
  • Branlyn Community Centre: closed
  • Brantford Public Libraries - Main Branch and St. Paul Branch: closed
    (Self-serve kiosks are available at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre and Sobeys on Shellard Lane with a valid Brantford Library card during operating hours)
  • Lions Park Arena: closed
  • T.B. Costain/SC Johnson Community Centre: closed
  • Woodman Park Community Centre: closed
  • Ontario Works Brantford – Brant Main Office (225 Colborne Street): closed

The City of Brantford is the place to be this Family Day long weekend, offering a variety of free, family-friendly activities to keep you active and entertained.
