Brantford Police Services Board seeks public input to inform priority planning
BRANTFORD, ON – As outlined in section 31 of the Ontario Police Services Act (OPSA), the role of police services boards includes determining objectives, priorities and policies for local police services, setting the annual police budget, making decisions governing the structure of the local police service and developing and implementing the Board’s Strategic Plan. The Brantford Police Services Board (BPSB) is the legal entity and authority for Brantford Police Services (BPS) and is responsible for priority setting, the provision of crime prevention, and law enforcement in the city of Brantford.
Public Feedback Opportunities
In keeping with the OPSA requirement, the Brantford Police Services Board (BPSB) is seeking public input through a variety of opportunities for residents to provide input regarding police services priorities, including an anonymous public online survey as well as other engagement tools and opportunities, available at letstalkbrantford.ca/bpsbpriorities.
Community Town Halls - Thursday June 9th and Saturday June 11th, 2022
In addition to online tools available at letstalkbrantford.ca/bpsbpriorities, members of the public are also invited to provide feedback by attending a Community Town Hall opportunity that will be offered as follows:
TOWN HALL OPPORTUNITY #1 - June 9, 2022
Thursday June 9, 2022 - 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- In person at Council Chambers, Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street West. Registration is not required to attend in person.
- Electronically - Registration to attend virtually is required by completing the Thursday June 9th Registration form to receive your link to attend virtually.
TOWN HALL OPPORTUNITY #2 - June 11, 2022
Saturday June 11th, 2022 - 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- In person at Council Chambers, Brantford City Hall, 58 Dalhousie Street West. Registration is not required to attend in person.
- Electronically - Registration to attend virtually is required by completing the Saturday June 11th online registration form to receive your link to attend virtually.
The Brantford Police Services Board appreciates the time and effort of all members of the public who complete the online survey or attend one of the Community Town Hall opportunities, as it will help ensure the Board focuses on crime and public safety issues of most concern in our community.
