Brantford City Council reappoints Brian Hutchings as Chief Administrative Officer
BRANTFORD, ON – At their City Council meeting held Tuesday March 28, 2023, Brantford City Council reappointed Brian Hutchings to the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), effective April 4, 2023.
A longtime community activist, earlier this year Mr. Hutchings left the City to pursue work with a non-profit housing organization in the Niagara region and to assist in managing a rapidly growing family business.
“With the unwavering support of my family, I have decided to accept City Council’s offer to return to the City of Brantford,” says Hutchings. “I love Brantford and feel very strongly about seeing through a number of the City’s key initiatives, including, settlement of the boundary lands, redevelopment of the Brantford Police Services Station, expanding the supply of affordable housing, a new multi-year budgeting process and cementing the City’s relationship with the Brantford Bulldogs.”
“I am very pleased that Mr. Hutchings has agreed to return to the position of CAO,” says Brantford Mayor Kevin Davis. “As is widely known, Brian is a strong and passionate leader who was instrumental in securing the City’s agreement with the Brantford Bulldogs, and for overseeing the 2023 City budget that was not only well below the current rate of inflation, but also the lowest tax increase in the province among the 31 Ontario cities with a population of 100,000 or more."
Positions reporting directly to the CAO include, General Managers, Fire Chief, Director of Communications, Community Engagement and Customer Service, and Director, Economic Development, Tourism and Cultural Initiatives.
