Brantford Celebrates National Public Works Week 2024

National Public Works Week 2024

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford proudly acknowledges National Public Works Week, honouring the outstanding contributions of public works professionals from May 19 to 25, 2024. This annual celebration provides a significant opportunity to recognize the hard work and dedication of these professionals, who play an essential role in enhancing and safeguarding our community's health, safety, and quality of life.

"National Public Works Week is a time to express our deep appreciation for the tireless efforts of our public works professionals who work behind the scenes to keep our communities running smoothly,” said Inderjit Hans, Commissioner of Public Works. “From the roads we drive on to the water we drink, they play a vital role in maintaining our quality of life. I am honoured to work alongside such dedicated individuals, and I'm proud to recognize their achievements during this special week."

The Public Works Commission plays a crucial role in delivering essential services, such as curbside waste collection, water and wastewater treatment plant operation, arenas and recreation, parks and public playgrounds maintenance, fleet and transit, traffic management, snow removal, and road construction. These services ensure the smooth functioning of Brantford, guaranteeing the protection, delivery, and safety of the community's most valuable resources.
