Applications for the spring 2025 City of Brantford Grants Program open March 14

Posted on March 03, 2025

BRANTFORD, ON – The City of Brantford and the Brant Community Foundation invites non-profit organizations and registered charities to submit applications for grant funding.

Since its launch in 2001, the City Grants program has helped shape the vitality and sense of belonging that we enjoy in our community. Through this grant program, the City is committed to building capacity across the local non-profit sector by supporting projects that further the priorities of the Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan, which are:

  • Affordable Housing
  • Children and Youth
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Intimate Partner and Gender-Based Violence
  • Older Adults
  • Safe and Vibrant Neighbourhoods
  • Substance Use

Projects eligible for City Grants will address one or more of the above priorities by contributing to local arts, culture, heritage, recreation, natural environment, and health and human services. For example, a proposed community art project could contribute to a safe and vibrant neighbourhood by providing access to a pro-social activity.

Funded from the City’s revenue sharing agreement with Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation for hosting Elements Casino Brantford and administered by the Brant Community Foundation, available grant streams include:

  • Operational Stream: Up to $10,000 for applications that support or expand existing projects that improve community and/or individual wellbeing.
  • Capital/Start-Up Stream: Up to $15,000 for applications that launch new projects aimed at improving community and/or individual wellbeing.
  • Event Stream: Up to $5,000 for applications that propose to host new or recurring community events.

Application forms, guidelines, and more information about eligibility can be found at brantcommunityfoundation.ca. An online City Grants Application Information Session will be hosted by the Brantford Community Foundation on Wednesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. After the session, a recording will be available for viewing at brantcommunityfoundation.ca/grants.
