City launches engagement campaign to strengthen public input framework
BRANTFORD, ON: The City of Brantford recognizes the importance of involving citizens in the development of City policies, programs and services and are committed to ensuring there is a range of opportunities for the community to provide input on issues that matter to them most. Today, we’re excited to launch a new Community Engagement Campaign designed to gather feedback from residents on how they want to be involved in important City decisions, particularly regarding the future of City-owned assets.
The information we gather will inform an update to the City’s current Community Involvement Framework with the goal of doing a better job reaching our residents and ensuring you’re aware of how to share your input on issues you care about. Whether it’s improving parks, enhancing infrastructure, or shaping key policies, your input is essential to creating a stronger, more inclusive community.
Running until February 28, 2025, the campaign includes a range of diverse engagement opportunities such as surveys, public forums, and in-person events. Residents will have the chance to provide input at popular community events, City-hosted programs, and three dedicated public consultation meetings in January and February 2025.
“Community input is critical to ensuring Council decisions reflect the needs and priorities of Brantford residents," said Councillor Dan McCreary, Chair of the Public Consultation Task Force. “By meeting people where they are, whether at a hockey game, a public swim, or an online forum, we want to make it as easy as possible for every voice to be heard.”
Key components of the campaign include:
- Surveys and Online Engagement whereby residents can provide input through the City’s Let’s Talk Brantford engagement portal.
- Public Engagement booths at events including Brantford Bulldogs home games and public skates at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
- Public Consultation Meetings scheduled for January 18, January 30, and February 13.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the campaign by attending events, completing the survey, and sharing their ideas. For more information, visit Let’s Talk Brantford.
