Brantford Councillor Cheryl Antoski Re-elected to FCM Board of Directors
BRANTFORD, ON: The City of Brantford is pleased to share that Councillor Cheryl Antoski has been re-elected to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors during the Federation’s first-ever virtual annual general meeting. In this position, Councillor Antoski will continue to represent the city and advocate for change that benefits municipalities across Canada.
To date, Councillor Antoski has served on the FCM Standing Committee on Conference Planning, the Standing Committee on Community Safety and Crime Prevention, the Ontario Regional Caucus, the Standing Committee on Increasing Women’s Participation in Municipal Government as Vice Chair, the Standing Committee on Social-Economic Development, the Standing Committee on Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development and, the Rural Forum.
Driven by a strong sense of community that transcends partisan politics, Councillor Antoski is excited to have the opportunity to build on the foundation she has fostered as a member of the Board to date saying, “I believe wholeheartedly that Municipal government depends on cooperative partnerships with all levels of government and all political parties. While resources are limited, we must find innovative and sustainable solutions to achieve common goals, by consensus building and garnering support from diverse groups of people through listening and considering multiple perspectives.”
Councillor Antoski’s approach has been integral to her successful contribution on the FCM Board to date. In her most recent term she focused efforts on issues that matter to her most including serving on the following Standing Committees:
- Conference Planning
- Environmental Issues and Sustainable Development
- Increasing Women’s Participation in Municipal Government (Vice-Chair)
- Social-Economic Development
- Ontario Caucus Member
