Household Hazardous Waste
Household Hazardous Waste Events allow you to safely dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHWs). These events are for residents of the City of Brantford and County of Brant only. Please note that industrial, commercial or institutional waste is not accepted at these residential events.
2024 Events
Dispose of your HHWs at the Mohawk Street Landfill Site from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Household Hazardous Waste Days
Do not throw out HHWs with your regular garbage or pour them down the drain. HHWs can result in environmental damage and create a health hazard if you don’t dispose of them properly.

During one of our Household Hazardous Waste Days you can discard unwanted items, such as:
Battery disposalDrop off used batteries (single-use and rechargeable) at a battery recycling location in your area or bring them to an upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Event at Mohawk Street Landfill Site (20 Morrison Rd.) for recycling. To view a list of additional battery recycling locations in your area, visit rpra.ca. Fluorescent and compact fluorescent tubesYou can bring fluorescent tubes (including compact fluorescent bulbs) in a cardboard box or wrap them in newspaper. Do not tape tubes and/or bulbs together. There is a limit of 10 tubes/bulbs per vehicle, per event day. |
