Brantford Outdoor Courts

Enjoy playing a game of pickleball or tennis outdoors. Brantford outdoor courts are available as weather permits. Equipment is not provided. Please note that listed hours below are subject to change without notice due to unforeseen circumstances, special event and tournament bookings or holidays.

Dufferin Park Outdoor Courts

Dufferin Park Outdoor Courts located at 164 St. Paul Avenue has six tennis courts and six pickleball courts. Pre-booking is available. Courts that are not booked in advance, will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rates

• Pickleball court rentals cost $3.39 per hour, per court
• Tennis court rentals cost $10.30 per hour, per court

Hours

Dufferin Courts will be open for play until November 17, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., weather permitting.

Booking and drop-in play schedules

Pickleball and tennis courts numbered 1 through 4 are available to pre-book. Pickleball and tennis courts numbered 5 and 6 are not available to be pre-booked.

Steve Brown Sports Complex Outdoor Courts

Enjoy playing a game of pickleball or tennis outdoors. Steve Brown Sports Complex at 12 Edge Street, has two tennis courts and six pickleball courts. Pre-booking is available at identified times in the schedule below. Courts that are not booked in advance are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We kindly ask players to please respect the posted rules, and limit games to one-hour if others are waiting to play.

Steve Brown Sports Complex Outdoor Courts are open daily May 1 to November 17, 2024 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., weather permitting.

How to book a court

Residents wishing to pre-book a single court during times indicated in the chart above listed as 'open for bookings', can reserve a court online using the link below, or in person at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre at 254 North Park Street.  Payment can be made online using a valid Visa or Mastercard. Once the court is booked, a permit will be emailed to you. Please ensure you have a print or electronic permit with you when you arrive to play. You may be asked for proof of booking.

How to book courts for an organization

If you are an organization looking to book blocks of court time for your leagues, clinics, camps etc., you can submit an application to pre-book courts. Once the application is received, someone from our team will review your request and contact you to discuss next steps.

Kiwanis Field Outdoor Courts

Kiwanis offers four tennis courts for drop-in outdoor play on a first-come, first-served basis. Pickleball play is welcome, but nets are not provided. We kindly ask players to please limit games to one-hour if others are waiting to play. Kiwanis Field outdoor courts is not available to be pre-booked.

Hours 

• May 1 to June 30: open Monday to Friday 6:00 p.m. to dusk and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to dusk
• July 1 to August 31: open daily 7:00 a.m. to dusk
• September 1 to October 31: open Monday to Friday 6:00 p.m. to dusk and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to dusk 

Court rules

Please note that outdoor courts are unsupervised. The City of Brantford does not assume any liability for the use or misuse of the courts. We kindly ask that all users please abide by the following court rules.

• Limit drop-in play to one hour if other individuals are waiting to use the court
• Use of proper equipment and footwear is required
• Food and glass containers are not permitted
• No pets are allowed within the fenced area
• All bikes, skateboards, rollerblades etc., are prohibited in this area
• Do not abuse the net or other equipment
• Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a guardian
• Please use the trash cans provided, no littering
• Be respectful of other players
• Smoking and vaping is not permitted on the premises
• Alcoholic beverages are not permitted

Refunds

Pre-booked outdoor courts are non-refundable. A full refund will be issued in the event the City of Brantford cancels a pre-booked outdoor court.
