We invite you to visit the Brantford home where Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone on July 26, 1874. Here you will see how the Bell family lived and worked. Tours and admission
Take a one-hour guided tour of the Bell family home and Canada’s first telephone office. Tours for up to 8 people are given on the hour from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. We highly recommend that you pre-book a tour to ensure that you get the date and tour time you prefer. All tours of the historic homes must be guided. Self-tours are not permitted.

Museum hours
The site is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed daily from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Hours are subject to change without notice. Please call us or email us before your visit to check on specific dates and times.
Exchange Café
The Café will be open May 7 to October 5 from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m., serving delicious home baking and hot and cold beverages.
The Exchange Café is fully licensed and serves beer and wine.

The phone booth museum store
Located in our visitor centre, our museum store sells Homestead souvenirs, telephones, books, posters and vintage items.
