Requirements
Assistant Mechanic |
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Grade 12 (OSSD, transcript or GED)
- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification and a valid 310S Automotive Service Technician Certificate of Qualification
- Preference given to candidates with the Emergency Vehicle Technician Endorsement & experience with Multi-Plex systems
- Previous experience with Fire Department and/or Emergency Vehicles considered an asset
- Valid Ontario Class D Driver’s License with Z air brake endorsement
- Ability to work independently, perform the physical duties of a Mechanic and maintain records in a computerized environment
- Familiarity with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act including WHMIS training
- Commitment to career-long learning

Firefighter |
- 18 years of age or older

- NFPA 1001 Fire Fighters I and II from a recognized institution
- Current First Responder or Emergency Medical Responder with valid “D” class driver’s license with “Z” endorsement
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to swim, work within confined spaces and high places
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including holidays, weekends and weeknights

Fire Prevention Officer |
- 18 years of age or older
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Grade 12 (OSSD, transcript or GED)
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license in good standing
- Knowledge of building construction, fire alarm systems, as well as the ability to interpret construction plans
- Knowledge of regulating by-laws, building codes and fire codes
- Experience involving fire behaviour, cause determination and fire suppression
- Commitment to career-long learning
- Conflict resolution skills

Fire Safety Educator |
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older and legally entitled to work in Canada
- Grade 12 (OSSD or GED)
- NFPA 1035 Public Fire and Life Safety Educator Level I from a recognized institution
- Valid Ontario Class G Drivers License
- Knowledge and experience utilizing the principles of public education including child and adult learning principles
- Demonstrate aptitude for public education and a commitment to customer service excellence
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline considered an asset
- NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level I or II from a recognized institution considered an asset
- NFPA 1035 Public Fire and Life Safety Educator Level II from a recognized institution considered an asset
