Beckett Serenaders

The Beckett Serenaders are a choir group that sings at various retirement & nursing homes in the Brantford area.
When we are not performing in the community, you will find our group practicing on Wednesday afternoons at the Beckett Adult Leisure Centre.

The Beckett Serenaders are currently looking for male voices!  You would need to be available on Wednesday afternoons from approximately 1:00 - 4:00 pm.  If you are interested, please inquire at the BALC front desk or call the Centre at
519-756-3261 ext 5569.  We will let you know how you can get involved!



Card Making Workshops

1) Beginners Card Making

Make 3 beautiful all occasion cards using a variety of tools & techniques. Everything supplied

1st Wednesday of every month
Time: 10 am – 12 noon.
Cost: $12.00 / workshop (members) or $15.00 / workshop (non members)

2) Advanced Card Making

Take your card making skills to the next level with interesting and fancy folds, designer papers, punches, more layers, ribbons, and embellishments. Everything supplied!

3rd Monday each month
10:00 am - 12:00 noon

Workshop includes all supplies and you leave with 4 occasion cards.
Cost: $17.00 (members) or $20.00 (non members)

Line Dancing is danced in lines - no partners usually.  The music is country & western, though some rock & roll or pop songs are used too. If you would like to learn the basics, join us for a new 6 week beginners class starting:

Begin Your Memoir

Every life is unique, filled with rich detail.  This class will help you begin to get your own (or your family's) tales and adventures down in writing, and also give you a better understanding of how to add spark to your storytelling.

Beginners Conversational Spanish

Learn the basics of this fascinating language with our very own Beckett Centre member, Maria Hernandez. This is a very informal class which is designed to provide you with basic knowledge of Spanish.

Fall Planter 

Create a beautiful fall planter for your front step with autumn flowering plants and other fall accessories.  Discussion will include cool weather plants that are appropriate for fall planting.

Holiday Wreath 

Using fresh greens and all of the trimmings, learn to make a holiday wreath for your front door!  This class will teach how to create the wreath base from fresh pine, cedar & fir boughs.  Make your project unique using natural accessories.

Do You Want To Quit Smoking Cigarettes?

The STOP program delivers research based, cost-free cessation workshops in local communities.  Eligible participants will attend an educational session and receive a 5 week course of nicotine patches. 

This workshop will be held at the BALC on
