Watering Restrictions & By-law

Background on the Water Conservation By-law

On May 1st, 2003, City Council passed a Water Conservation By-law which restricts watering of lawns and gardens to the months of June, July and August every year. On March 1st, 2004, City Council passed an amendment to this by-law in order to improve its effectiveness. Residents were given the option to register for overnight watering in lieu of day times, as well as some more exemptions.
