Transit Route Changes

Starting September 6, 2026, Brantford Transit will introduce service adjustments to improve service reliability and better match ridership levels throughout the network. These changes are part of the second phase of the Brantford Transit Moving Forward Transit Optimization Plan.

What is changing:

More frequent afternoon service will return in the fall.
Routes 4, 4A and 4C will be retired.
New Core Route B will be introduced, providing direct north-south service between Eagle Place and Brantford Commons.
Routes 23, 24 and 25 will be introduced in the north end of Brantford to provide improved service coverage and more direct travel options.
Most routes will also have minor schedule adjustments in addition to the changes listed below.

Join us on Wednesday, August 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Charlie Ward Room at City Hall (58 Dalhousie Street).

This drop-in event will provide an opportunity for residents and riders to learn more about the upcoming service changes, ask questions and speak with Brantford Transit staff about how the changes may affect their trips.

Planned changes by route

Select any of the following routes for details about upcoming updates:

Route A - Telephone Line

No changes to the planned route.
Increased frequency will return this fall, with peak service every 20 minutes.

Route B – Daffodil Line (New)

Route B will be a two-way core route, forming an ‘X’ pattern with Route A.
Route B will replace the western portion of Routes 4A and 4C between Brantford Commons and Downtown. It will then continue into Eagle Place via the Entertainment District, Erie Avenue and Woodlands Cultural Centre.
Daily service will operate, with weekday afternoon peak service every 20 minutes.
Sunday service will operate every 45 minutes.

Route B – Daffodil Line Map

Route 1 - Eagle Place Loop

No planned changes to the route

Route 3 - Banbury and Brier Park Loop (Service ending)

Route 3 will be retired on September 6, 2026.
Service in the area will be replaced by Routes 24 and 25.

Route 4A - Mall Loop (Service ending)

Route 4A will be retired on September 6, 2026.
Service will be replaced by new and revised routes including Routes B, 23 and 24.

Route 4C - Mall Loop (Service ending)

Route 4C will be retired on September 6, 2026.
Service will be replaced by new and revised routes including Routes B and 24.

Route 5 - D’Aubigny Line

No changes to the planned route

Route 7 - Braneida Loop

No changes to the planned route.
Increased frequency will return this fall.

Route 8 - Holmedale and Mayfair Line

Service will no longer operate on Cambridge Drive by Russell Reid Public School. Service will instead operate on Balmoral Drive.

Route 9 - Echo Place and Sinclair Boulevard Loop

No changes to the planned route.
Increased frequency will return in the fall.

Route 14 - East Brantford Evening Loop

No changes to the planned route

Route 20 - Grand River Line

This route will now operate on Paris Road in both directions and will no longer operate along Ava Road.
New southbound stops will be added on Paris Road at Queensway Drive and Hardy Road/Tollgate Road.
Weekday service every 30 minutes will be extended until approximately 11:00 p.m.

Route 21 - Tollgate Line

The route will no longer serve Dalkeith Drive, Copernicus Boulevard or Easton Boulevard.
The route will now follow the same loop as Route 20 around Northwest Industrial Area (NWIA).
Weekday service will operate every hour from approximately 6:20 a.m. to 3:35 p.m., with an additional bus just before 7:00 a.m.

Route 23 – Memorial Line (New)

Route 23 will provide two-way service along the same route as Route 4A from the terminal to Fairview Drive/Baxter Street.
From Fairview Drive/Baxter Street, the route will continue along Memorial Drive and Varadi Avenue to Brantford Commons.
The return trip will follow the same route in reverse.

Route 24 – Park Line (New)

Route 24 will replace Routes 4A and 4C as a two-way service between Brantford Commons and Lynden Park Mall, with an extension to Holiday Drive.
The Banbury Park loop will be added back to the route. All buses will travel clockwise through this section.
There will be no bus stops for this route on Wayne Gretzky Parkway.

Route 24 – Park Line Map

Route 25 – Beaver Line (New)

Route 25 will provide a new, more direct connection between Brantford Commons and Lynden Park Mall.
The route will connect Brantford Commons and Lynden Park Mall via Park Road North, Dunsdon Street and King George Road.
The route will also serve Brier Park Road and Applewood Drive toward Lynden Park Mall.
